The local elections in Brandenburg in 1998 took place on Sunday, September 27, 1998. On the same day, the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania took place in 1998 .

The representatives for district councils , city councils of the independent cities and municipal councils or city councils of the cities and municipalities belonging to the district were elected.
