The Hnatassja ( Ukrainian Гнатася ) is a 1766.5 m (other data call a height of 1769 m ) high mountain of the Chyvchyny massif ( Чивчини ) in the Maramures Mountains , a mountain range of the Forest Carpathians .
The Hnatassja consists mainly of basalt and is considered the southernmost peak of the Ukrainian Carpathians.
Geographical location
The Hnatassja lies southeast of the village Burkut and west of the village Sarata . The state border between the Ukrainian Verkhovyna Rajon of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and the Romanian Maramureş District runs across the mountain . The source of Chornyj Cheremosh is located near the mountain .
