The 2017 local elections in Estonia took place on Sunday, October 15, 2017. It was the eighth local elections since the state regained independence in 1991.
The self-governing bodies of the local authorities were elected, i.e. the members of the city and local councils.
All residents who were at least sixteen years old on election day and who were either Estonian or a national of another Member State of the European Union and who had permanent residence in Estonia were eligible to vote. To be elected, a candidate had to be at least eighteen years old.
