The Complete Group is a Norwegian online mail order company for electronic products. The Complete Group also manufactures desktop PCs and, with an annual production of 35,000 units, is number one in Scandinavia.

The company is part of the Canica Group, the Hagen family's holding company , who built the RIMI supermarket chain in Norway.

history

In 1996 the first internet shop was opened at the address Complete.no . In 1999, the companies Complete and Norek merged to form Norkom , which went public in 2000. In the same year the company expanded to Sweden. In 2003 a warehouse was opened in Tilburg to supply online shops in Western Europe.

In 2008 the online shops in Great Britain, Germany, Austria and France were closed. In 2010 the remaining activities in the Benelux region were sold to Paradigit Holding BV.

In 2015, the German comtech GmbH based in Aspach (near Backnang) was taken over. The online mail order company for information technology, telecommunications, entertainment electronics as well as household appliances and power tools generated sales of around EUR 150 million in 2015. On November 28, 2019, sales via the comtech.de online shop were discontinued.

Joachim Ehmann, Ralf Kern and Stefan Christinger acted as managing directors.

On March 2, 2017, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruled the Central Office for Combating Unfair Competition in the long-standing dispute with Comtech over charges for service telephone numbers. Comtech had previously switched a 0180 service number for customer calls. Calls cost 14 cents per minute from a landline and 42 cents from a cellular network. The competition center considered this to be inadmissible and sued. The ECJ referred to the EU consumer directive , according to which a call made by a customer in connection with a purchase may not cost more than the "basic tariff". In Germany this is currently 2.9 cents from the fixed network at Deutsche Telekom.

At the beginning of September 2019 Comtech filed for bankruptcy at the district court in Stuttgart ( file number 5 IN 452/19). Business operations ceased at the end of November 2019, after which no investor was found to continue the company.
