history

The company Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk started the production of components for the commercial vehicle manufacturer Volvo in 1957. In 1987 the automotive division was acquired by the employees ( employee buy-out ) and the company Kongsberg Automotive became independent. A company location in Dassel , Germany, was closed in 2011. The location was previously acquired as part of the takeover of Teleflex Automotive . Another location with 57 employees in Heiligenhaus was closed at the end of 2017. In 2017 the operational head office was relocated to Zurich , Switzerland .
