Konradów (German Konradsthal ; also Conradsthal ) is a district of the city Wałbrzych (German Waldenburg ) in the Polish Voivodeship of Lower Silesia .

Geographical location

The village is located in Lower Silesia in the Waldenburger Bergland on the north-western outskirts of Wałbrzych. Neighboring towns are Struga in the north, Szczawno-Zdrój and Szczawienko in the northeast, Stary Zdrój in the east, Biały Kamień in the south, Jabłów in the west and Lubomin in the north-west.

history

Konradsthal belonged to the Waldenburg coal mining district and was initially a colony of Weißstein , in 1753 it became an independent municipality, and a Protestant school is documented for 1782. The Protestant cemetery, laid out in 1795, was given a small chapel in 1817. After the reorganization of Prussia, Konradsthal belonged to the province of Silesia from 1815 and was incorporated into the Waldenburg district from 1818 , with which it remained connected until 1945. In 1818 Konradsthal consisted of 255 inhabitants, in 1840 there were 388. Since 1874 Konradsthal belonged to the district of Salzbrunn together with Hartau, Neu Salzbrunn and Ober Salzbrunn as well as the Hartau estate . In the same year it was connected to the Waldenburg – Halbstadt line , which was electrified in 1914. In 1925 there were 868 inhabitants. Together with Hartau, Konradsthal was incorporated into Weißstein in 1935.

As a result of the Second World War , Konradsthal fell to Poland in 1945, like almost all of Silesia, and was renamed Konradów . Most of the German population was expelled, unless they had already fled. Some of the new residents were displaced from eastern Poland . After Konradów was initially an independent municipality again, it was incorporated into the town of Wałbrzych in 1958, with which it has shared its further history since then.
