Gebhardt's first role was that of the youthful hero and lover. In this early phase, the native of Berlin was seen as Don Karlos in the Schiller play of the same name, as Don Cesar in The Bride of Messina by the same author, as Hereditary Prince Karl-Heinz in the romance of Alt-Heidelberg , as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet , as Ferdinand in Kabale und Liebe , as Hans in Max Halbe's youth and as Jacob Doorn in Der Strom by the same author.

When it came to silent films, Konrad Gebhardt gave little more than guest appearances; none of these largely unknown productions has any artistic significance.

Since 1924 he has been speaking in front of the microphones at Nordische Rundfunk AG (NORAG) in Hamburg. Here he was mostly heard in leading roles.

Konrad Gebhardt was buried in the Ohlsdorf cemetery in the area of the grave of Ernst Koehne (1856-1933), co-founder of the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg (grid square Y 12, southwest of the north pond ).
