Konrad Schuba

Konrad Philipp Schuba (born August 26, 1929 in Radolfzell on Lake Constance ) is a German organist .

biography

Konrad Philipp Schuba already worked as organist at St. Stephan zu Konstanz at the age of eleven . From 1949 to 1958 he studied at the State University of Music in Stuttgart with Anton Nowakowski (organ), Karl Heinz Lautner (piano) and Johann Nepomuk David and Karl Marx (composition). In 1958 he was the only prize winner in the competition of the state music academies of West Germany in Freiburg im Breisgau , and in 1962 he was the first prize winner in the international improvisation competition in St. Bavo in Haarlem (Netherlands). From 1955 to 1994 Schuba was a full-time organist on the Klais organ in the Constance Minster . From 1955 to 2004 he was artistic director of the International Organ Concerts in Konstanz, which he founded . From 1956 he went on extensive concert tours all over Europe. Numerous radio recordings were made with German and foreign broadcasters as well as various recordings on LP and CD. From 1975 to 2000 Schuba taught artistic organ playing and liturgical organ improvisation at the University of Catholic Church Music in Rottenburg am Neckar .
