Konrad Weidemann

Konrad Weidemann (born November 4, 1938 ; † March 21, 2010 in Mainz ) was a German prehistoric archaeologist and medieval archaeologist.

Life

He studied prehistory and received his doctorate on July 28, 1965 in Göttingen . In 1966/1967 he received a travel grant from the German Archaeological Institute . From 1966 he worked at the Roman-Germanic Central Museum in Mainz. Initially, he was assistant director, from 1974 director of the Early Middle Ages department, from 1982 until his retirement in 2003 he was director general of the museum.
