Constantine Filippou

Konstantin Filippou (* 1980 in Graz ) is an Austrian cook and restaurateur .

Konstantin Filippou was born in Graz in 1980 as the son of an Austrian and a Greek . His father died when Constantine was 13 years old. He began his apprenticeship as a chef at the age of 15 in the Hotel Unterhof in Filzmoos , then he worked in the Obauer restaurant in Werfen , in Steirereck in Vienna , with Gordon Ramsay and Le Gavroche in London and later in Arzak in San Sebastian, Spain, and in Weibel 3 and Novelli in Vienna.

In 2013 he opened his first own restaurant in Vienna called Konstantin Filippou , which received a Michelin star in 2014 . In 2016 he was named Chef of the Year by Gault Millau . In 2018 he was awarded the 2nd star by the Michelin Guide and the 4th toque by Gault Millau. He also runs the O Boufés wine bar at the Dominican Bastion in Vienna .

Until 2018 he was one of the professional chefs in the ORF show Frisch cooked . In the third season of the VOX cooking show Kitchen Impossible , Filippou appeared in the first episode in 2018. He defeated his opponent Tim Mälzer there . Since April 6, 2018, he has been a juror on the ORF comedy cooking show Meine Mama cooks better than yours .
