Konstantin Friedrich Flemig (* 1988 near Stuttgart ) is a German journalist and director of documentary films .

Life

Konstantin Flemig was born near Stuttgart in 1988. His first cinematic attempts were videos in the style of the MTV series Jackass . He shot his application film for the film school in the Democratic Republic of the Congo , where he documented everyday life in a luxury restaurant in the capital Kinshasa .

He attended the German School of Journalism in Munich before studying documentary film and screenwriting at the renowned Baden-Württemberg Film Academy . There he was, among other things, in the team of authors for Oink'n'Slay , a nutrition- critical first-person shooter in which you control a pig fleeing the slaughterhouse.

With his graduation film BilderKrieg he won the Hollywood International Independent Documentary Award , the Special Mention Award of the International Open Film Festival and the Grand Jury Prize of the Baghdad International Film Festival . The documentary about a young war reporter's attempt to make ends meet financially was produced by SWR and was shown at numerous international film festivals.

For his film Exit Exit Exit , he completed his training as a war reporter with the Bundeswehr . He is one of Werner Herzog's rogues , a group of young filmmakers who attended the Rogue Film School . The curriculum includes topics such as "The Art of Lockpicking", "Forging Filming Permits" and "Guerrilla Tactics". In addition to filmmaking, he writes short stories that have been published by various publishers. He is a guest author for the satire portal Der Postillon .

During the battle for Mosul he shot a 360-degree report from the front between Iraqi armed forces and IS for ZDFinfo .

Flemig regularly publishes explanatory videos on Facebook and Youtube on various security and geopolitical issues, which have been praised by religious scholar Michael Blume , among others . Flemig received several death threats following a video criticizing the Turkish invasion of Afrin , Syria .
