Konstantin Ghilian Karl Freiherr d'Aspre von Hoobreuck (* 1767 in Ghent ; † July 7, 1809 in Vienna ) was an Austrian Lieutenant Field Marshal and Commander of the Military Maria Theresa Order .

Life

As a young officer he fought in the Dutch wars and distinguished himself several times. On August 7, 1790 he acquired the Knight's Cross of the Maria Theresa Order from Herve . In the fighting in Italy from 1789–1800 he led the free corps of the "d'Aspre hunters" named after him. In 1799 he received the Commander's Cross of the Maria Theresa Order. In 1800 he was promoted to major general of the Imperial Army and entrusted with the management of a brigade . In 1809, three years after the laying down of the imperial crown, he showed great bravery as a Lieutenant Field Marshal of the Austrian Empire in the Battle of Aspern and the Battle of Wagram . When the attack on Aderklaa , although already seriously wounded, he did not give up command and continued to take part in the fight. But he finally collapsed and died the next day from his wounds.

Konstantin Karl d'Aspre was the father of Feldzeugmeister Konstantin d'Aspre (1789–1850).
