Konya Tajae Plummer (born August 2, 1997 in Epsom , Saint Mary Parish , Jamaica ) is a Jamaican soccer player .

Career

society

Plummer first went to Annotto Bay High School in Epsom before moving to Titchfield High School in Portland Parish to play on a women's soccer team.

Plummer started playing for Southeastern University in Lakeland , Florida in 2016 . In her first year she scored seven goals and with ten assists the most assists on her team. In 2017 she scored twelve goals and three assists. She ran a total of 38 games for Southeastern University before moving to the University of Central Florida . She scored one goal for the Knights in 2018 and played nine games. In 2019 she played in 16 games.

In the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) draft , Plummer was selected 10th in the second round of the Orlando Pride . She is the first Jamaican player to be selected in an NWSL draft.

National team

Plummer has been in Jamaica's national squad since the U-15. With a win on penalties over Panama at the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup 2018 , she qualified with the national team for the first time for the 2019 Women's World Cup in France , where she led the team as captain.
