The Concert Theater Coesfeld at Osterwicker Straße 31 in Coesfeld combines a multi-part theater for music theater , drama and ballet as well as a concert hall under one roof.

history

The Concert Theater Coesfeld was built according to designs by the Coesfeld architecture and engineering office Bock Neuhaus Partner . The building, measuring around 50 × 50 meters in area, was erected on the site behind the former district military replacement office, where a map store had previously been located. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on May 6, 2005. The client was Ernsting's real estate GmbH & Co. KG , a subsidiary of Kurt Ernstings textile company Ernsting's family , which also ensures the operation of the house. The construction costs amounted to around 16 million euros, which were raised by the Ernsting family. After less than two years of construction, the Concert Theater Coesfeld was officially opened on April 19 and 20, 2007 with the performances of Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Mozart's Magic Flute .

Technology and equipment

The Concert Theater Coesfeld has up to 623 seats, which are arranged in ascending rows from the stage to the back tiers. Above is the 21 meter wide Z-bridge . Different seating arrangements are provided depending on the event. The stage itself can be designed variably and can therefore meet a wide variety of requirements. A total of 13 different stage sizes are possible. The first six rows of seats can be removed to make space for a large front stage or to lower part of the stage floor for the orchestra pit, which is up to 2.7 meters deep . The trench can be set up with either 70 or 100 m². The large hall is not used for special events, but a studio stage. A concert shell is available for pure concert events . The acoustics can be fine-tuned using a sophisticated slat technology.
