Coriander ( Coriandrum ) is a plant genus from the family of the Umbelliferae (Apiaceae) with three kinds. The True Coriander is a spice plant.
features
The coriander are herbaceous plants that are one to two years old. They are bald and smell fresh like bedbugs . The lower leaves are lobed and have broadly ovate end sections. The upper leaves are two to three-pinnate with narrow-linear end sections.
The flowers are in compound umbels . The marginal flowers are enlarged. The shell is missing or has a single leaf. The shells are multilayered. The flowers are partly hermaphroditic, partly male. The five-toothed calyx is permanent, the two outward-pointing sepals are noticeably larger. The crown is white or reddish. The petals are inverted heart-shaped. The tapped flap is trimmed or sanded. The ovary is bare.
The fruits are spherical and hard. The partial fruits are firmly connected and are difficult to separate. They are smooth on the outside, main ribs only protrude on dry fruits. The oil streaks are stunted when they ripen. The pen pad is cone-shaped, the pen is elongated and two to three times as long as the pen pad.
