history

The Kornice area was inhabited as early as the last Ice Age. At the end of the 12th century the village Domašice and a field "Nakorniceh" were located here. The village was probably moved to its present location in Kornice in the 13th century. Kornice was first mentioned in 1347. It belonged to the Litomyšl lordship, with whom it remained connected until 1848. In 1850 Kornice became a part of the Velké Sedliště municipality . Since 1898 Kornice was an independent municipality. In 1976 it was incorporated into the town of Litomyšl. In 1991 the place had 147 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 46 houses in which 150 people lived.
