Kortulu is a village in the central district of the province of Kırşehir in Central Anatolia in Turkey .

The village is located about 17 km southwest of the provincial capital Kırşehir and about 3 km away from the Hirfanlı reservoir.

history

The time of foundation is not known, but the villagers suspect that the village is no more than 300 years old. The regional history only exists in an orally transmitted form.

According to tradition, the village was founded by Yörük -Turkmen, who immigrated from the region of the cities of Hatay and Adana to Pozantı and later to Kırşehir. In Pozanti these Yörük Turkmen founded a village called Kurutlu. For reasons unknown, they decided to continue hiking and arrived in Kırşehir. There they founded a village of the same name near the city, which changed slightly over time and took on the current form "Kortulu".

population

The villagers are Sunni Muslims. They believe it from the Turkic people of the Afshar descended and belonged to the clan of Akçakoyun. Agriculture and animal husbandry are the main sources of income for the village population.
