Sewerian Stefan Yakymyshyn OSBM (born April 22, 1930 in Plain Lake ) is Old Bishop of New Westminster .

Life

Sewerian Stefan Yakymyshyn joined the religious order of the Basilians of St. Josaphat bei and the Apostolic Visitor of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Western Europe , Ivan Bucko , ordained him as a priest on May 19, 1955 . John Paul II named him Bishop of New Westminster on February 5, 1995 .

The old archbishop of Winnipeg , Maxim Hermaniuk CSsR , donated him episcopal ordination on March 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Michael Bzdel CSsR, Archbishop of Winnipeg , and Myron Michael Daciuk OSBM, Bishop of Edmonton .
