Myron Michael Daciuk
Myron Michael Daciuk OSBM , Ukrainian : Мирон Дацюк, (born November 16, 1919 in Mundare , Alberta , Canada ; † January 14, 1996 in Edmonton ) was Bishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church of Edmonton in Canada.
Life
Myron Duciuk joined the Order of the Basilians of St. Josaphat and took his religious vows on November 5, 1942 . He was ordained a religious priest on June 10, 1945 , his religious name was Michael. From 1964 to 1970 he was novice master in his order. On June 24, 1982 he was called auxiliary bishop in Winnipeg and appointed titular bishop of Thyatira . The Archbishop of Winnipeg Maxim Hermaniuk CSsR consecrated him on October 14, 1982 as bishop. As co-consecrators the bishop were Jeronim Isidor Chimy OSBM of New Westminster and the Bishop in Edmonton Demetrius Martin Greschuk present. He was appointed Bishop of Edmonton on January 14, 1991.
As Bishop of Edmonton he was co-consecrator to Archbishop Michael Bzdel CSsR (Winnipeg), Peter Stasiuk CSsR ( Melbourne ), Wassylij Medwit OSBM ( Lemberg ) and Sewerian Stefan Yakymyshyn (New Westminster). He died in Edmonton on January 14, 1996 and was buried in the Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery in Mundare.
