Kottspiel is a district of the municipality Bühlertann in the district of Schwäbisch Hall in northeastern Baden-Württemberg .

geography

Kottspiel is about two kilometers south of the village of Bühlertann in the Bühler Valley in a warped valley spider . From the right and east in the village of the Avenbach , a little down from the village from the left and coming from the northwest, its largest tributary Fischach flows into the Bühler.

The Bühlertalstraße L 1072 on its section between Bühlertann and Bühlerzell runs through Kottspiel, from where the K 2625 branches off in the direction of Bühlerzell-Geifertshofen, which connects with the towns in the Fischachtal. A lesser road leads through the Avenbach valley to Bühlerzell-Holenstein.

history

Kottspiel was first mentioned in 1230. The Kottspiel moated castle , which had been abandoned in the Middle Ages, was located within a loop of the Bühler north around the village center, but today only a small hill and shallow surrounding ditches in a meadow testify to it. In the center of the village, alongside the street, stands the late Gothic local church, consecrated to Saint Leonhard , with a Renaissance high altar and loopholes-like tower openings.
