The Chana power plant is a combined cycle power plant in Chana County, Songkhla Province , Thailand .

The installed capacity of the power plant is 1476 (or 1510 or 1531) MW . Construction of the power plant began in 2005. The first block went into operation in 2008. The power plant is owned by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and is also operated by EGAT.

Power plant units

The power plant consists of two blocks. The following table gives an overview:

block unit Max. Power (MW) Start of operation turbine generator Steam boiler
1 1 235 2008 Siemens Siemens Nooter / Erickson
2 235 2008 Siemens Siemens Nooter / Erickson
3 240 2008 Siemens Siemens
2 1 400 2014 Siemens Siemens Vogt
2 400 2014 Siemens Siemens Vogt

Unit 1 consists of two gas turbines and a downstream steam turbine . A waste heat steam generator is connected to each of the two gas turbines ; the waste heat steam generator then supplies the steam turbine.

In the two units of block 2, on the other hand, the gas turbine and the steam turbine are connected to a common shaft ( single shaft ).

Others

The order value for Block 2 was USD 425 million .
