The power plant Connaught Bridge is a gas power plant in the city of Sound , State of Selangor , Malaysia , the riverside sound is located. It is named after the nearby railway bridge over the sound. The first power plant on this site was built in the 1940s.

The power plant is owned by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and is also operated by TNB.

Power plant units

The power plant consists of two plants, one of which is a gas turbine power plant and one is a combined cycle power plant . The following table gives an overview:

Plant 1 consists of four gas turbines without a downstream steam turbine . Plant 2 consists of two gas turbines and a downstream steam turbine. A waste heat steam generator is connected to each of the two gas turbines ; the waste heat steam generator then supplies the steam turbine.

The two gas turbines in Plant 2 went into operation in 1984 and were originally oil-fired; In 1993 they were converted to run on natural gas .
