The Tavanasa / Obersaxen power plant is a hydropower plant near Tavanasa . It was built in 1946 by HOVAG, later Ems-Chemie AG. The hydropower plant uses the water of the Tscharbach and should secure the power supply of the builder. Today the plants are located in the area of Kraftwerke Vorderrhein AG, which was founded in 1962 .
A Pelton turbine with an output of 4 MW generates an average of 18.6 million kWh per year.
