Vorderrhein power plants |
The total catchment area of the plants is 316 km², the three reservoirs together contain around 152 million m³. The net capacity of the three lakes is on two power levels in the power plant Central Sedrun ( 701652 / 170207 ) and Tavanasa ( seven hundred twenty-two thousand eight hundred seventy-six / 179028 ) used. The latter power plant was taken over by HOVAG .
Three horizontal-axis Pelton turbines with an output of 50 MW are installed in the Sedrun power plant. The processed water is in the compensation basin Runcahez (1961) ( 716 974 / 171056 ) between stored and further used in the power plant Tavanasa. Four horizontal-axis Pelton turbines with an output of 45 MW are installed in the latter. After the Tavanasa power plant stage, the processed water is returned to the Vorderrhein. The total installed capacity of the two power plants is 331 MW.
In the switchgear of Tavanasa 380/220 kV lines to Disentis-Sedrun and Bonaduz, as well as the start preliminary line . The KVR is involved in the high voltage network in Switzerland and uses identical long-distance lines with the NOK.
