Detailed map |
The Lai da Nalps is a reservoir in Val Nalps in the canton of Graubünden in the municipality of Tujetsch . Together with the Lai da Sontga Maria and Lai da Curnera reservoirs , which are located in neighboring valleys, it forms a single water management system connected by pipes.
The reservoir can be reached from the Vorderrheintal . The last larger town is Sedrun . From this village a mountain road leads south to the lake, which is, however, subject to a general driving ban.
The road is not maintained in winter, so from December to May the Nalps weir can only be reached with a private cable car, which is open to everyone from July to October as far as the intermediate station Tgom (in winter on request).
The dam is monitored fully automatically by means of a system of permanently installed lasers and reflectors, also in order to detect possible deformations due to the construction of the Gotthard base tunnel , which runs under the dam, at an early stage.
