The Lago di Lucendro is a reservoir in the canton of Ticino in the municipality of Airolo . The water from the reservoir is used together with that from the Sella reservoir in the Airolo power plant.

The reservoir can be reached on a road over the Gotthard Pass . A mountain road leads from the Ospizio to the reservoir a few hundred meters away.

history

The Lucendro dam was completed by Motor-Columbus in 1947 . Before that there was a small mountain lake here.

Due to the lack of material during the Second World War, the wall was built using the pile construction method from hollow concrete columns.
