The Lac de l'Hongrin is located in the canton of Vaud in the communes of Château-d'Oex and Ormont-Dessous . The water is processed in the Veytaux power station and then flows into Lake Geneva . In this way, the catchment area of the Hongrin , which drains to the Rhine , is partly fed to the Rhone via the European main watershed .
The reservoir can be reached from the east via La Lécherette , from the southwest via Corbeyrier or from the north via Montbovon .
The area south of Lac de l'Hongrin is a military firing range, so that on weekdays access is often restricted or not possible at all.
history
The two arch dams Hongrin Nord and Hongrin Sud were completed in 1969; the entire construction work lasted from 1966 to 1971.
