In addition to generating electricity, Blocks 3 and 4 also serve to provide process steam for the adjacent refinery of the Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore . The generators in these blocks are cooled with hydrogen.
Seawater desalination
In October 2007, a seawater desalination plant was completed on the site of the power plant , which delivers 10,000 m³ of water per day. The cost was US $ 14 million . The facility was officially opened on January 29, 2008.
owner
On March 6, 2009 Temasek Holdings sold the power plant operator PowerSeraya Pte Ltd (PS) for S $ 3.8 billion to the Malaysian YTL Power International Berhad . On January 13, 2010 PS changed its name to become YTL PowerSeraya Pte Ltd.
