The Ratchaburi Power Plant is a power plant near the city of Ratchaburi , Ratchaburi Province , Thailand . It consists of a conventional thermal power plant operated with natural gas and two combined cycle power plants .

With an installed capacity of 4870 (or 5.045) MW , Ratchaburi is the most powerful power plant in Thailand (as of May 2020). Construction of the power plant began in 1996; it went into operation in 2000.

The blocks of plants 2 and 3 each consist of two gas turbines and a downstream steam turbine . A waste heat steam generator is connected to each of the two gas turbines ; the waste heat steam generator then supplies the steam turbine.

Plants 1 and 2 of the power plant are owned by Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Company Ltd (REGC) and are also operated by REGC. Plant 3 is owned and operated by Ratchaburi Power Company Ltd (RPC) and is also operated by RPC. REGC is a 100% subsidiary of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL (REGH); RPC is 25% owned by REGH. The largest shareholder in REGH in 2010 was the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
