The Robbia power plant is a storage power plant in Switzerland . It is located in the canton of Graubünden in the valley Puschlav , on the southern side of the Bernina Pass near the village of San Carlo in the municipality Poschiavo . The plant is owned by the energy supplier Repower .
The three Pelton turbines at 1078 m above sea level. M. located plants together have an installed capacity of 27 MW . With a drop height of 613 meters, 99.6 GWh of electricity are produced annually.
The power plant, which went into operation in 1910, is supplied with water via a pressure pipe . From the Lago Bianco reservoir to the Puntalta water inlet at the southern end of the Cavaglia plain , the water took the natural route in the first few years. In 1926 and 1927, the two stages Palü and Cavaglia were interposed. From 1941 to 1942, the Asciali pipeline , which directs the water from Val da Camp and Val Laguné directly to the surge tank of the Robbia power station, and a second pressure pipeline were built.
The Robbia operations center has been located next to the power station since 1976. From there, all Repower production facilities and networks in Switzerland are centrally monitored and controlled. The high voltage line between Switzerland and Italy is also checked here.
