The Solbergfoss power plant is a run-of-river power plant in the municipality of Indre Østfold , Viken province , Norway . It dams the Glomma , the longest river in Norway. The town of Askim is about 5 km south of the power plant.
Construction of the power station began in 1913. The Askim – Solbergfoss railway was built for the construction . It went into operation in 1924. The power plant is majority owned by E-CO Energi (64.4%; Statkraft 35.6%) and is also operated by them.

The barrier structure consists of a gravity dam . The machine hall of the Solbergfoss I power plant is parallel to the bank.

Solbergfoss II power plant
The Solbergfoss II power plant has 1 Kaplan turbine and an installed capacity of 100 MW. The average annual production is 550 million kWh. The maximum flow is 550 m³ / s.
Solbergfoss II was built from 1979 to 1985.
