The transmission area mainly includes the so-called old district of Bruchsal , Bretten , the Kraichgau , but also the Hardt and Rhine plains . The target group is local to regional.

In addition to contributions for television, KraichgauTV also produces image or advertising films for communities, institutions and companies.

Range

Since the complete digitization there has been a technical reach of around 200,000 households, which corresponds to around 165,000 or 420,000 people according to the "statistical telephoto factor" (2.2).

philosophy

As a broadcaster for rural areas, KraichgauTV shows the closeness to the region. The relatively large catchment area enables the growing together, information security and communication between the individual communities. It also strengthens the self-esteem of the rural population towards regional centers and metropolitan areas such as Karlsruhe or Heidelberg .

This philosophy is supported by the claim to be a "hands-on TV". Viewers can support the editors with their own information or contributions from associations and communities.

history

Initially, there was a regional five-minute window for Bruchsal and the surrounding area in cooperation with the regional television R.TV .

On January 1, 2007, KraichgauTV and the Bruchsal city magazine Willi were merged as a cross-media project, which enables the content to be disseminated through different media.

After licensing by the State Office for Communication Baden-Württemberg (LFK), KraichgauTV obtained the broadcasting license as a radio broadcaster and went on air in the spring of 2007 on Kabel digital Baden-Württemberg.

In June 2009 KraichgauTV and Willi were finally united under the large Internet portal Landfunker , on which the latest reports and news from the region are now always available in addition to the individual TV reports and the online editions of the city magazine.

In 2009 KraichgauTV produced the 1000th contribution from the region. The number of hits on the entire portfolio of films on the Internet portal in 2009 was over 500,000 film views.

In October 2013, the number of films produced reached the 2000 mark. Up to this point in time, all films were available via the associated online portal. The number of monthly movie views by viewers rose to over 200,000. 55,000 of these were accounted for by the current film contributions for a month, the remaining 145,000 were retrievals of older film contributions from the archive.

In November 2013, the number of archive articles was reduced to 1300 for reasons of storage space.

Employee

KraichgauTV employs seven people in production. Ulrich Konrad is responsible for content, management, coordination, organization and moderation.

program

KraichgauTV reports from the so-called old district of Bruchsal, Bretten and the Kraichgau, which also includes the Hardt and the Rhine plain. Since the start of the broadcast, KraichgauTV's approximately one-hour program has been running as a broadcast loop, which changes every Wednesday at around 3 p.m. A changeover to time-controlled formats was planned for 2010, but was postponed due to the high financial outlay.

The topics are politics, business, news, information from associations and institutions, entertainment from the region or surveys on current topics as well as dates on culture, music, theater or events.

KraichgauTV currently produces the following programs:

  • A regional magazine that reports on the latest happenings in the region. The focus here is on a wide range of topics related to politics, business, culture, lifestyle and sport. The magazine always begins with the weekly news, which looks back on the week, but also gives tips on dates for the coming days.
  • Since 2010, an integral part of the weekly magazine has been regional “family news” with baby photos or interesting holiday pictures sent in by viewers.
  • After Das Magazin, KraichgauTV History is shown, where film material from the past is shown. Here viewers can send in and publish their own old film material.
  • The Soundbox music format has existed since December 30th, 2009, presenting bands and artists from the region at random.
  • While the articles within the weekly magazine are limited to about three minutes, a detailed, about 10-minute long film about a current topic from the region is always shown at the end of the magazine.

reception

KraichgauTV is distributed in digital cable television. The program is available as a live stream on the station's homepage , as is individual programs and contributions in a media library. In May 2015 KraichgauTV had around 130,000 film views from the "Current Articles" and "Media Library" areas.
