The Pannonhalma District (Hungarian Pannonhalmi járás ) is an inland district in the southeast of Győr-Moson-Sopron County . It borders on the Tét County in the northwest and Győr County in the north . Veszprém county forms the border to the west and south-west, and Komárom-Esztergom county to the east .
history
The district was created during the administrative reform in early 2013 from the forerunner, the small area Pannonhalma (Hungarian Pannonhalmai kistérség ). Of the 18 municipalities, only the Győrság municipality was transferred to the Győr district .

The Pannonhalma district has an average municipality size of 926 inhabitants on an area of 18.37 square kilometers. The population density of the second smallest district is about half of the county value. The district seat is located in the only town of Pannonhalma , in the north of the district.
