The Wolfhagen District Clinic was a hospital in Wolfhagen that existed until the beginning of 2020 . Since February 21, 2020, no new patients have been admitted for inpatient treatment. Outpatient treatments will continue to be offered for the time being. The independent medical practices on the premises - one each for gynecology , ENT , urology and radiology - are still in operation.

The reason for the closure were fire protection deficiencies. However, the closure was preceded by a lengthy dispute between the district and the city of Kassel . The city of Kassel under Mayor Geselle , which holds 92.5% of the shares in Gesundheit Nordhessen Holding (GNH), to which the Wolfhagen district clinic also belongs, had wanted to close the clinic for a long time for economic reasons. Although the Kassel district resisted it, with its 7.5% stake in GNH, it could do little to prevent the closure. By the beginning of March 2020, the Friends of the Wolfhagen District Clinic had collected 13,000 signatures to receive it. In March 2020 it was announced that the district would like to operate the clinic in conjunction with the Hofgeismar district clinic together with a private partner. The necessary sale of the clinic was decided on April 5, 2020 by the district council and should take place on July 1, 2020.
