The Crucifixion Group 2004

The listed crucifixion group is located in Pingsheim , a district of the municipality of Nörvenich in the Düren district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The crucifixion group dates from the 18th century and is located in the center of the village. It was relocated in the 1960s for traffic reasons. Now it stands next to the Zehnthof , which was owned by Groß St. Martin in Cologne until secularization .

The Pingsheimer figures are more coarsely designed than those in neighboring Dorweiler . A renovation carried out in the 1960s did not bring any benefit to the monument. Faces and folds of clothing have been altered and improperly treated with cement . Another restoration in 1986 could not make up for much.

Together with the parish church of St. Martinus , the Baroque pastorate and the Zehnthof, the group of figures forms a defining village center.
