This cross stone is not a typical atonement cross that a guilty party had to put up, but a memorial that was donated by the victim's parents . It is about 130 cm × 80 cm × 33 cm in size and is made of sandstone. The cross stone shows strong marks on the edge of the base plate. A Latin cross is carved out of the stone . There is a vertical and deep grooving groove in the intersection area . Many pans are notched underneath . The cross was probably created after 1646. The memorial is related to a robbery in 1646 of the Lübeck merchant Johann Schlueter. The following inscription can be found on a bronze plaque on his grave at the Johannisfriedhof in Nuremberg :

Anno 1646 on February 14th, the hereditary and prince Johann Schlueter of Lübeck passed away…. Which on his Reyss to Italia 6 miles from here behind Weinsfeld blown up by a Rauberische Parthey rider kills several Reysgeferten. But he was fatally shot by Loaf on it to come to Weinsfeld from dar uff Hilpoltstein and when he was there 17 hours after receiving a shot in Christ Jesus his Redeemer was brought back here peacefully asleep and was buried in this Christian bed on February 19th.

The Hohe Straße , a long-distance connection between Bad Wimpfen and Nuremberg , also ran through the district of Roth. It was still in use during the Thirty Years War . The attack took place on the Lübeck merchant's son Johann Schlütter. He wanted to travel from Nuremberg to Bolzano in February 1646 with the Nuremberg businessman and council member Georg Fürst, a Bavarian cavalry master and 17 dragoons of a regiment . On February 3, 1646 the group near Mindorf was attacked by riders and snap cocks . Johann Schlütter was murdered and his body was brought back to Nuremberg. This cross stone was erected at the scene of the crime for the murdered.
