War and Friday (actually Tobias Vogel ; born September 18, 1982 in Krefeld ) is a German comic artist , author and cartoonist .

Life

The name Krieg und Freitag came about when Vogel, who was born in Krefeld and works for an insurance company, wanted to type in “ War and Peace ” on his mobile phone , but wrote Friday instead of peace . Under the pseudonym @kriegundfreitag , he has been posting humorous stick figure drawings on the social networks Twitter , Facebook and Instagram since 2017 . He received the first media attention in August 2018 with a fundraising campaign for the Saxon Refugee Council on the occasion of xenophobic incidents. In October 2018 Vogel started together with Andre Lux (alias “ Egon Forever! ”) Under the name “Forever! Friday “a podcast . In 2019 he won the Grimme Online Award in the culture and entertainment category . A year later he received the audience award of the Max and Moritz Prize .

In November 2019 his book Schweres Geknitter was published by Lappan Verlag .
