Kristina "Kristi" Leskinen (born February 10, 1981 in Uniontown , Pennsylvania ) is a former American freestyle skier .

Career

Sports

Leskinen, who is of Finnish descent, won the silver medal in the halfpipe at the 2005 Freestyle Skiing World Championships in Ruka . At the Winter X Games in Aspen in the same year, she won bronze in the superpipe. At the Gravity Games, Leskinen won the halfpipe race in 2005.

Model and TV

Leskinen was already active as a model and pin-up girl during her active career and was on the cover of Powder magazine's annual photo book in 2004 . In 2005 she was selected in the 100 Hottest Women of 2005 by FHM magazine . In 2009 she took part in the TV show The Superstars on TV channel ABC . Together with Maksim Chmerkovisky from Dancing with the Stars , she won the show.

Leskinen made films about freestyle skiing during her sports career as well as wakeboarding in her free time .

Leskinen is married to Russel Thornton. She has three brothers and two sisters.
