Kristian von Bengtson (* 1974 ) is a Danish architect . With his company MOTHER, he has specialized in the field of manned space travel. Kristian von Bengtson lives in Copenhagen and is married to the director Karla von Bengtson.

Previous education

Kristian von Bengtson completed his Master of Architecture in 2001 at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen. He obtained his Master of Science in Space Studies in 2006 from the private International Space University in Illkirch-Graffenstaden , Alsace .

Project participation

In 2003 he co-founded SpaceArch.com and the design firm Goodmorning Technology Limited. In 2004 he worked a. a. for the Space & the Arts conference of ESA . 2005 he was u. a. involved in the "Moon & Habitat Workshop" of ESA / ESTEC. In 2006 and 2008 he worked for NASA . Here he worked a. a. on the Human Design Interface Handbook and was involved in studies for the Constellation program.

In 2008 he founded the Copenhagen Suborbitals Association together with the Danish designer Peter Madsen . There he was responsible for the design and production of the MSC (= micro spacecraft) Tycho Brahe-1 and other space capsules until he left in February 2014 .

In 2013 he started the Objective Europe project. It offers a platform for research to make a manned flight to Jupiter's moon Europa possible.

Since 2014 he has been involved in the design of Mars One's Outpost Alpha simulation on behalf of Mars One .

He is the co-founder and technical director of the space company Orbex .

Awards

Kristian von Bengtson and Peter Madsen were awarded the Danish Heinrich Prize 2010 for their work.
