Kristina Bognar (born March 3, 1983 in Budapest ) is a German-Hungarian volleyball player .
Career
Bognar grew up as the daughter of a gymnast and a water polo player in Berlin . In the German capital, she began her volleyball career at TSV Spandau in 1860 , before the setter switched to CJD Berlin and won German championships in several age groups together with Ramona Stucki and Kathy Radzuweit. In 2002 she began studying economics at the University of San Francisco and played on the university team there. After returning from the United States, she went to VC 68 Berlin , but the club eventually had to file for bankruptcy. Then Bognar moved to the first Spanish league to Aguere Tenerife . Her next stop in Germany was Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen . From there she went to the Greek association Panionios Athens . In 2008 she was signed by SC Potsdam . Bognar played for the Hungarian national team from 2004 to 2010 and played numerous European, World Cup and Olympic qualifying games. Bognar has been playing for Köpenicker SC since January 2015, where she played at KSC 2 in the second Bundesliga from summer 2015 to 2017. She has been active for the BBSC Berlin since 2018 .
In addition to her volleyball career, she successfully completed her industrial engineering studies at the TU Berlin and has been working as a research assistant at the TU Berlin with Frank Behrendt at the Institute for Energy Technology since 2009 . She is doing her doctorate in the field of renewable energies and seawater desalination.
