Kristina Sergejewna Spiridonowa ( Russian Кристина Сергеевна Спиридонова ; born August 21, 1998 in Ufa ) is a Russian freestyle skier . She starts in the discipline Aerials (jumping).
Career
Spiridonowa started for the first time in December 2012 in Ruka in the European Cup. In March 2014, she became the Russian aerials champion. In the 2014/15 season she finished in the top ten four times in the European Cup. She won her first European Cup in Minsk and took third place in the Aerials discipline at the end of the season. She made her debut in the World Cup on February 21, 2015 in Moscow ; she jumped to 11th place and immediately won her first World Cup points. At the Junior World Championships 2015 in Chiesa in Valmalenco , she was ninth. In the 2015/16 season she achieved six top 10 placings in the European Cup, including two third place, one second place and one first place. At the end of the season she finished second in the aerials discipline. At the Junior World Championships in Minsk in 2016, she came in sixth place.
After finishing 11th and 10th at the World Cup in Beida Lake at the beginning of the 2016/17 season , Spiridonowa achieved her first World Cup podium finish on January 14, 2017 in Lake Placid with third place. This was followed by three top 10 results and seventh place in the Aerials World Cup at the end of the season. She finished ninth at the 2017 World Championships in Sierra Nevada . In the 2017/18 World Cup season she established herself at the top of the world. She achieved a second and third place, which was enough for third place in the Aerials discipline.
