The Croatian pastoral care in Germany ( Croatian Hrvatski dušobrižnički ured u Njemačkoj ), together with the Bishops' Conferences of Germany , Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, coordinates the pastoral work for the Croatian Catholic missions of the Croatian Catholic Christians in Germany .
history
Due to the labor migration of the Croatian Roman Catholic population since 1968 from the entire national territory of the former Yugoslavia , the Bishops' Conference of Germany offered pastoral care to the Croatian migrants . It includes the possibility of maintaining one's own religious traditions and makes it easier for them to live in the local German churches . Of the 426 native-speaking congregations currently founded in Germany, about 100 congregations are made up of Croatian- speaking Catholics. According to their own information and the statistics of the German dioceses , the approximately 305,000 Croatian Catholics are currently looked after by 94 priests , 6 deacons , 74 pastoral workers and 27 secretaries. The coordination office of the Croatian pastoral care has been located in Frankfurt am Main since 1978 . Pastor Ivica Komadina is currently the delegate for Croatian pastoral care in Germany.
Church offers
The Croatian pastoral care in Germany regularly enables pastoral events and seminars at regional and federal level (Germany) . Above all, pilgrimages , retreats, advanced training seminars, pastoral annual meetings, youth meetings, youth Bible Olympics, folklore festivals, meetings of children's and adult church choirs . The Croatian pastoral care in Germany regularly publishes the magazine “Živa zajednica” (Living Community). It provides information in Croatian and German about the life of the Croatian Catholic missions in Germany. This also includes social issues. As the newsletter of the Croatian Catholic Missions, it also contains interesting articles about Croatian culture, history and language. Currently the editor-in-chief of the magazine "Živa zajednica" is Dr. Adolf Polegubic . The anthology "Zbornik" is published annually in which reports from the annual meetings of priests and pastoral workers that take place in autumn are reported. A liturgical wall calendar with all important information about the church year is published annually for the Croatian Catholic faithful . The address book “Vodič” with all addresses of the Catholic-Croatian missions in Europe and worldwide, addresses of Croatian social workers in advice centers of the German Caritas and other addresses of Roman Catholic charitable institutions is published at intervals .
