The Krogmann Point is a headland that forms the western branch of the Krogmann Island in the Wilhelm Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula .

The first sighting of Krogmann Island goes back to the German polar explorer Eduard Dallmann in January 1874 during the Antarctic voyage with the auxiliary sailor Groenland between 1873 and 1874 . Dallmann named it after Hermann August Krogmann (1826-1894), a member of the Geographical Society in Hamburg , who helped finance the expedition. The Belgica expedition (1897–1899), led by the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery, named it after the Danish polar explorer Andreas Peter Hovgaard (1853–1910), who was involved in the preparations for this research trip. De Gerlache's naming is particularly relevant in the English-speaking world. There the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee decided in 1959 to transfer Dallmann's designation to the headland described here.
