Kronos was a brutal death metal band from France . Its name goes back to the titan Kronos , the father of Zeus from Greek mythology.

history

Kronos was founded in 1994 in Thaon-les-Vosges by Grams, Marot, Jeremy and Mike. The band was playing a mix of heavy metal and thrash metal at the time . Two years later, Tems replaced guitarist Marot and Kristof joined the band as a singer. Kronos started to play Death Metal from now on and they recorded the demo Outrance . In 1999 Tom (20 years old) replaced Jéremy. The band is now more oriented towards brutal death metal. In the following year, the demo Split Promo 2000 , which contains four tracks, was completed together with None Divine .

The first album Titan's Awakening was released in 2001. The first edition of the album was produced by the band itself. The band was received positively by the critics and the first contract with Warpath Records (formerly Shockwave ) was signed. A new edition of the first Titan's Awakening was released in late October of the same year.

Richard replaced Tems and started playing lead guitar in 2003. The band signed for two more albums with Dave Rotten's Spanish label , Xtreem Music .

The second album Colossal Titan Strife was released in 2004 and was promoted on a tour through Europe in 2005.

The third album The Hellenic Terror was released in April 2007. In March 2017, the band announced their breakup on their Facebook page. Her last appearance took place at the Asylum Metal Fest.

style

Stylistically defining for the band is the processing of myths, especially Greek, in their lyrics. Also characteristic is the high speed and the high technical playing style in the pieces. The band is described as a mix of Decapitated , Aborted and Necrophagist .
