Dave Rotten

Dave Rotten , real name David Sanchez Gonzales , is a Spanish death metal singer and music label owner. He is known for his very deep guttural singing style . Rotten has lived in Madrid since completing his military service in 1991 .

biography

When death metal became more popular in the late 1980s, Dave decided to become a death metal musician as well. At the same time he wanted to start his own music label. He managed to conclude a contract with the Spanish music label Hard Vinyl Records to manage a sub-label specializing in death metal releases. He founded the Drowned Productions label , which signed numerous high-quality bands such as Demigod and Pyrexia and released their albums.

In 1991 he founded the band Avulsed , of which he is a singer to this day. In 1993 he founded his own independent label Repulse Records , which he ran until 2002. The label was able to attract international attention by releasing well-known bands such as Immolation and Vader . He also managed to establish new music groups such as Deranged and Adramelech in the scene.

In 1994 he and his friend Dave Nigger decided to found a new band that played music even more intensely than his main band Avulsed. The band was called Christ Denied and got a contract with a small German label, on which the debut album was released. After the financial end of Repulse Records , Rotten founded a new label called Xtreem Music some time later, together with his friend Toni, who previously ran the music label Quabalah Productions , which he still operates today.

Rotten was a session singer at Golgotha until the band found a new singer. He is also the singer with the Spanish band Unwom and he runs a music project called Putrevore with some Swedish musicians.
