The Krummbachstein is 1602  m above sea level. A. high mountain in Lower Austria . It belongs to the Rax-Schneeberg-Gruppe and is the highest point of the Gahn ; it is only separated from the Schneeberg by the Krummbachsattel . From the Krummbachstein there is a beautiful view of the Schneeberg and the Höllental .

The Alpenfreundehütte ( 1568  m ), which was built in 1909 and is only very simply managed, is 150 meters east of the summit cross . The secondary peak about 500 m east of the summit cross is only slightly lower than the main peak.

On the south side of the Krummbachstein lies the Naturfreundehaus Knofeleben , from which the summit can be reached in less than an hour via the so-called Schiblsteig (green marking). There are two options for the last part of the path, a forest path to the Alpenfreundehütte (not difficult) and the direct ascent to the summit (rocks, difficulty level I− ). The mountain is accessible via hiking trails from the Alpleck in the east (yellow marking) and from the Krummbachsattel in the north.
