Krzysztof Marek Kolberger (born August 13, 1950 in Gdansk , † January 7, 2011 in Warsaw ) was a Polish actor and theater director .

Life

Kolberger's father comes from Lemberg (until 1953 his father and son were called Kohlberger), who came to Gdansk after the Second World War because of the border shifts. Krzysztof Kolberger received his acting training at the State Theater Academy (PWST) , which he graduated in 1972. He had his first engagement in 1972 in Katowice . Adam Hanuszkiewicz brought him to the Teatr Narodowy in Warsaw a year later , where he was part of the ensemble until Hanuszkiewicz was dismissed in 1982. He then played and staged on various Warsaw stages and returned in 1999 to Teatr Narodowy, which was rebuilt after a fire in the 1980s, and was part of the ensemble until 2004. After two television works, Kolberger made his cinema debut in 1976 under the direction of Gustaw Holoubek . Krzysztof Kolberger was one of the most respected theater actors and reciters in Poland. He owed his ability as a reciter that Andrzej Wajda cast him as Adam Mickiewicz in his 1999 film adaptation of Pan Tadeusz . Krzysztof Kolberger died on January 7, 2011 after suffering from cancer for many years .
