Coat of arms and motto

The shield shows the golden disk of the sun with the red monogram of Christ on a blue background . The sounds "Ch" and "R" for the name Christ are represented in Greek by the letters Χ ( Chi ) and Ρ ( Rho ), which are optically identical to the Latin letters X and P and there for the word "Pax" ( Peace) stand. The circle symbolizes the divinity of Christ, the "sun of righteousness". Tradition in the coat of arms of the bishops of the still young diocese of Köslin-Kolberg are the wavy lines, the water, the habitat of the Baltic Sea .

Behind the shield is the bishop's cross, above it the green galero (bishop's hat ) with the six green tassels (fiocchi) hanging down.

His motto quotes a Pauline word “Amen Bogu na chwałę” (“Amen, for the glory of God”) 2nd Corinthians ( 2 Cor 1.20  EU ) and recalls the Pauline year 2009 in which Krzysztof Zadarko was ordained bishop.
