Tadeusz Werno

Tadeusz Werno (born August 4, 1931 in Kaźmierz , Greater Poland ) is auxiliary bishop emeritus in Koszalin-Kołobrzeg .

Life

Ordained a priest on June 24, 1956 in Gorzów Wielkopolski . On March 22, 1974, Pope Paul VI appointed him . as auxiliary bishop in Koszalin-Kołobrzeg (Köslin-Kolberg) and titular bishop of Zattara . He was ordained bishop by the Primate of Poland , Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński , on May 25, 1974; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Poznan , Antonio Baraniak , and the Bishop of Koszalin-Kołobrzeg, Ignacy Jeż .

As cathedral provost (chairman of the cathedral chapter) in the Köslin-Kolberg diocese he was appointed diocesan administrator three times : after the death of Bishop Czesław Domin from March 15 to August 31, 1996, after Marian Gołębiewski was appointed Archbishop of Wroclaw and after his appointment from Kazimierz Nycz to Archbishop from April 9 to July 9, 2007.

On September 22, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.

In 2006 the city of Słupsk (Eng .: Stolp) granted him honorary citizenship .

Coat of arms and motto

His bishop's coat of arms depicts the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove.

Behind the escutcheon is the bishop's cross, above the bishop's hat ( Galero ) with six tassels ( fiocchi ) on the right and left below the motto.

His motto is: Omnibus omnia factus sum ("I am everything to everyone").
