Kumamoto International Road Race

The Kumamoto International Road Race ( Japanese 熊 本 国際 ロ ー ド , Kumamoto kokusai rōdo ) is a Japanese bicycle race .

The one-day race was first held in 2009 and was part of the UCI Asia Tour 2010 , in which it was classified in category 1.2. The first edition of the race over 164.5 kilometers on November 15, 2009, was won by the Japanese Yasuharu Nakajima as the solo winner. The field of participants in 2009 consisted mainly of Japanese and Koreans .

In 2010 the race was rescheduled for October 10th, marking the opening race of the 2011 UCI Asia Tour . With Takashi Miyazawa , who prevailed against Yūsuke Hatanaka in the sprint , a local could again triumph on the difficult course in the city of Yamaga in the Kumamoto district . The field of participants was more international in 2010 than in 2009, so drivers from Australia , Malaysia , China and Taiwan also took part.

The race was not included in the 2012 UCI Asia Tour calendar .
